Access & Transportation

Access to Athens airport is feasible through various public means of transportation: Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) to/from “Dimotiko Theatro” of Piraeus & Athens city center. Τhe Suburban railway to/from Piraeus, Athens suburbs & cities outside Attica. OASA operates four public bus lines to/from Syntagma, Piraeus, southern suburbs of Athens, and central regional bus stations. Two local regional KTEL bus lines facilitate access to the port of Rafina & Lavrio.

Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level. Pre-booked taxis are available at a separate waiting area, before Short Term 1, near the terminal. For luxury transportation, limousine services are offered at the inner curbside of the Arrivals Level, between Exits 3 and 4​.

Currently, there are 6 car rental companies operating at Athens airport. Their offices are located at the Arrivals Level of the Main Terminal Building.

The access for vehicles in front of the Departures and Arrivals areas of the Main Terminal Building to drop off or pick up passengers is controlled in order to ensure that everyone can welcome and say goodbye to travellers with ease and safety!
