Online Check-in is the fastest way, through the airline’s website or app.
Many airlines allow you to check in online in advance (i.e. between 30 days and 4 hours before your flight). Make sure that your airline provides this option.
For certain airlines, online check-in is the only available option to get your boarding card for free. Some airlines charge a printing fee at the check-in desks if you have not acquired your boarding pass before arriving at the airport. Check with your airline at the time of booking.
If you travel with hand baggage only, checking- in online will allow you to walk straight to the Security and Passport Control with your boarding pass ready.
If you have hold baggage, you will still need to check in your bag at the airport check-in counters.
Check with your airline about the check-in counter opening & closure times in order to schedule your arrival at the airport accordingly.
If you have to carry bulky oversized bag, mobility equipment, sports equipment, musical instruments etc you need to confirm your airline’s policy & conditions of carriage before arriving at the airport with them.

The self-service kiosks (CUSS Kiosk) are quick and easy to use, you can print your boarding pass and, in some cases, your baggage tag. You can then drop off your checked baggage at a dedicated counter. See which airlines provide this feature at Athens airport here.
After checking in, please move to the control areas as soon as possible. During the high seasons, there may be long waiting times.
Check in may be different if you plan to travel with your dog, cat or another small pet. You will need to check with your airline in advance to be informed about any particular rules that may apply to your case & have everything you need when you arrive at the airport.
