Located in AIA's Main Terminal Building (Departures Level - Entrance 3), the permanent exhibition of archaeological findings discovered in Mesogaia, contains 172 archaeological artifacts dating from the Neolithic and Early Helladic to the Post-Byzantine period. Inaugurated in 2003, it aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the area.
Copies of some of the more important artifacts brought to light during the construction of AIA can also be admired at the front entrances of the airport - Departures Level. Τhe multimedia and interactive exhibition titled «Eleftherios Venizelos at Athens International Airport» is presented by the Athens International Airport and the National Research Foundation «Eleftherios K. Venizelos», renewing their cooperation for the third time. The objective of the exhibition is to present to the travelers and visitors of the Airport the crucial role that Eleftherios Venizelos played in the development of the Modern Greek nation and more specifically in the establishment of the Ministry of Aviation in 1929.

This exhibition is hosted in a specially-designed area of the Main Terminal Building and organized in cooperation with the Acropolis Museum. Housing the masterpieces of the Acropolis, the Museum offers its visitors a fresh view of life in Greek antiquity in the comfort of an award winning architect designed contemporary building. The exhibition includes cast copies of the west Parthenon frieze and a cast copy of the Peplos Kore, one of the most beautiful votive offerings of the archaic Acropolis. Additionally, the exhibition presents a digital presentation of the Peplos Kore with the marble surface of the statue colored as it is thought to have been originally, as well as a short video presentation of the Acropolis Museum, a perfect introduction to your visit.
