ICAO- SECOND SYMPOSIUM ON TECHNICAL COOPERATION (GACS II) IN ATHENS
Athens International Airport (AIA) in close collaboration with the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) convened the Second Global Aviation Cooperation Symposium (GACS) from 11-13 October 2017 in Athens, Greece.
Focused on the theme of Managing Change: Building a Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation Community, the symposium, will provide a platform for discussion of key issues, exchange of important information on latest trends and innovations, and the sharing of best practices supporting a safe and efficient future for global air transport.
Together, governments, airport operators, air navigation service providers and other industry professionals considered how to improve the coordination and delivery of technical cooperation and assistance across the full spectrum of civil aviation activity.
Topics presented included: ICAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme in response to State’s needs; Aviation Security and Facilitation as well as Safety Oversight in the context of Technical Cooperation; Air Navigation Services and new technologies, Airport Development and best practices; Capacity Building and Training; as well as Project Funding and Resource Mobilization for project development.
