360 digital guided tours of the Athens Airport for pupils and students from Greece and across the world

On the occasion of its 20th Anniversary, Athens International Airport enhances further its digital footprint, this time by adding the unique experience of guided 360ο tours for pupils and students in Greece and abroad.

Having to date welcomed around 65,000 pupils and students, the Athens airport and its people keep on "opening the doors to the airport premises" for young people, as airport guided tours continue despite the hygienic restrictions... differently! This is how: Thanks to 3D Virtual Tour Technology, pupils and students from all over Greece or from anywhere in the world, will be able to enjoy their "virtual roaming inside the airport", as from April 12th, 2021!

Guided by airport staff and the airport's friendly mascot, Philos the Athenian, pupils located even in the remotest regions, will be able to enjoy the exciting experience of the airport tour via their mobile phone or tablet. The 3D virtual tour not only gives the visitor the sense of actually being and roaming inside the airport areas, but also allows the visitor to choose route and direction, through VR masks compatible technology.

As the Virtual Guided Tour Programme for schools and educational institutions begins on April 12th, Athens International Airport and its people are very glad to invite them to visit the airport's webpage (https://www.aia.gr/traveler/airport-information/hospitality-services), and address their request via the special e-mail [email protected] for a virtual guided tour of 1 ½ - 2 hours.

Using all state-of-the-art technological tools, Athens International Airport staff will be guiding pupils and students inside the Main Terminal Building, in the Baggage Handling halls, inside all art & culture exhibition areas, inside passenger boarding gates, as well as in the Control Tower, and the visit will end with the final exciting stop in the Fire Brigade Station, where the visitor will be offered a very special display by the "Panther", the Fire Brigade's impressive rescue and fire extinguishing vehicle.
