Cooperating with the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Athens International Airport hosted at its premises from September 3rd 2012 to January 30th 2013 a brief presentation of the exhibition “The Antikythera Shipwreck – The Ship, the Treasures, the Mechanism”.

The exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum presented for the very first time the entire collection of antiquities recovered from the area of the famous shipwreck. The shipwreck was discovered by sponge divers from the isle of Symi and its partial salvaging constitutes the first large-scale underwater research globally. The finds date back to the 4th - 1st century B.C.
