Athens International Airport, in collaboration with the non-profitable organisation "Ydronaftes" (Hydronauts), welcomes the public to the new photo exhibition of environmental conscience, titled "A Journey to Underwater Greece" from January 13th to April 30th 2014.

This new photographic journey has a twofold objective: to demonstrate the beauty of the Greek sea world, uniquely presented through the lens of the amateur divers/photographers, as well as to raise awareness and provide information on our country’s sea world wealth and the protection measures that need to be taken, an issue with extremely high environmental significance.

Therefore, a contrast of images are exhibited: beautiful sea life and magnificent underwater landscapes, but also waste thrown into the seas, the variety of which is beyond any imagination,

The beauty of the Greek marine ecosystem and the necessity to protect it are highlighted through these contradictions and the mixed feelings created by these photos as well as by the informative video which is also projected.

The exhibition is accessible by all passengers and visitors in the “Art & Environment” area (Departures level – 2nd floor) and is open on a 24hour basis.
