Music making waves
For the third consecutive year, Samos will be hosting the Young Artists Festival, an annual
event that promotes the creativity and talent of young musicians from around the world,
including artists from Greece, Iceland, Israel, Turkey and the United States. Under the
direction of conductor, composer and professor Konstantia Gourzi, the festival aims to
bring young musicians together and allow for the exchange of ideas, as well as music.
Performances will take place in the Ancient Theatre of Pythagorion that dates from the 4th
Century B.C. while the groundbreaking exhibition by video-artist Harun Farocki will take
place in the former Pythagoras Hotel. (Samos Young Artists Festival, 6 – 12 August

πανέμορφη Σάμο, όπου διοργανώνεται για τρίτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά στο Samos Young Artists
Festival. Ταλαντούχοι μουσικοί από όλον τον κόσμο θα παρουσιάσουν γνωστά έργα της
παγκόσμιας μουσικής κληρονομιάς αλλά και καινούργιες, πρωτότυπες συνθέσεις με έμφαση
στην κλασική μουσική και την τζαζ. Φέτος θα τιμηθεί και ο συνθέτης Μανώλης Καλομοίρης,
που ήταν Σάμιος, καθώς είναι η επέτειος των 50 χρόνων από το θάνατό του. Οι συναυλίες θα
πραγματοποιηθούν στον υποβλητικό χώρο του αρχαίου θεάτρου του λιμανιού του Πυθαγορείου.
