6 Corporate

Responsibility

Being responsible for the operation and development of Athens Airport, AIA aims
at striking a balance among three roles: managing the airport efficiently, running a
profitable business and acting on public interest. In this effort, we are faced with the
challenging dilemmas of today’s business reality: balancing occasional conflicting
stakeholder interests, ensuring high productivity while maintaining business control,
addressing environmental challenges while seeking growth, meeting cost constraints
while making a positive socio-economic impact.

AIA applies globally acknowledged sustainability standards and guidelines and
implements its Corporate Responsibility (CR) policy. Following a bi-annual Materiality
exercise, AIA’s Management identifies, prioritises and validates the sustainability
aspects that are essential for the company and its stakeholders. The selected
material aspects are the drivers for the annual CR Action Plan and are elaborated in
detail in the CR Report that is issued on an annual basis.
