Where others saw the headquarters of the Japanese
Army during the 2nd World War, or the ensuing
warehouse, Loh Lik Peng saw the revival of this historic
1930’s building as a boutique hotel that incorporated the
vintage aesthetics of the west bank of the Huangpu River.
But perhaps what Peng did not expect was that this Design
Hotels™ member would infuse the neighbourhood with such
energy and vitality, drawing the attention from the impressive
skyscrapers and imposing Oriental Pearl TV Tower on the left
