Milan welcomes its guests like a talented fash-
ion designer peeking through the catwalk cur-
tains, proud and confident that lovers of fash-
ion, design and la dolce vita around the world
consider it their “Eternal City”.
Day One
With the hip Straf Hotel (straf.it) located in the heart
of Milan as a starting point, my first encounter with
the city begins at the Duomo (Piazza Duono), Eu-
rope’s third largest cathedral with over 3.500 stat-
ues, a stop at the Palazzo Reale (Piazza Duomo 12),
and continues with the Palazzo della Ragione just
a stone’s throw away on Via Mercanti. After a tasty
pit stop at Obikà, a bio chic mozzarella bar (obika.
it), I walk along the majestic Corso Magenta until
Santa Maria delle Grazie church to admire – res-
ervation required – Leonardo da Vinci’s famous
painting The Last Supper (grazieop.it).
