privilege endowed to Chios island by
nature: the worldwide uniqueness of

NIKOS TSIROS/DIGITAL STUDIO LIBERIS
Chios, the land of Homer and Greek ship-
ping tycoons, is an idyllic Greek island
along the coast of Asia Minor that owes
part of its fame to the endemic mastic tree. Tear-
shaped drops (the precious extract of the tree's
trunk) are distilled into rare aromatic liquers.
Some are available at the airport's Mastiha shop,
but you may find all of the above (from L: Domi-
no, Skinos, Tetteris, Apalarina, Eoliki) at Ilias An-
Hthidis' Wine & Spirits Gallery.

ναυτιλίας, το πανέμορφο νησί της Χίου
στο Ανατολικό Αιγαίο απέναντι από
τις ακτές της Μικράς Ασίας, χρωστά μέρος της
φήμης της στο ενδημικό δέντρο της μαστίχας. Σαν
δάκρυα τρέχουν από τον κορμό του οι στάλες που
χρησιμοποιούνται για να παραχθούν αυτά τα σπάνια
αρωματικά λικέρ. Κάποια θα τα βρείτε στο Mastiha
shop στο αεροδρόμιο, αλλά όλα τα παραπάνω (από
αριστερά: Domino, Skinos, Τέττερης, Απαλαρίνα,
Eoliki) υπάρχουν σίγουρα στην Kάβα Ανθίδη στο
Μαρούσι (anthidis.gr).
