The airport’s two home-base carriers, Aegean presence moving up from 14% to 16% of the airport’s
Airlines/Olympic Air and Ryanair hold the top 2 passengers. Lufthansa, EasyJet, Swiss and British
places in the airlines’ ranking in terms of passenger Airways follow while the top 10 is completed by
traffic. Aegean and Olympic acquired almost 49% of Turkish Airlines, Air France, Alitalia and Emirates
the airport’s passenger traffic, followed by Ryanair which managed to enter the top 10 at the expense of
that in the course of 2016 further enhanced its Qatar Airways.
