Belem, Lisbon opened 5/10/16
Inspired by the waters of the river, AL_A architecture firm designed a building that resembles the
rippling of the water as the new museum of modern art in Lisbon. In complete harmony with its natural
environment on the banks of the Tagus River, the building is covered with 15,000 three dimensional white
tiles that create a rippling effect and features an impressive roof from where visitors can admire the view of
Sao Jorge castle after exploring the interior. | Mε έμπνευση από τα νερά του ποταμού, το αρχιτεκτονικό
γραφείο AL_A σχεδίασε για το νέο μουσείο μοντέρνας τέχνης ένα κτίριο, που θα θυμίζει τους ελιγμούς
των ρευμάτων και θα συνάδει με το φυσικό περιβάλλον του, τις προβλήτες του ποταμού Τάγου.
Καλυμμένο με 15.000 λευκά, τρισδιάστατα κεραμικά που του δίνουν μια κυματιστή μορφή και με μια
εντυπωσιακή στέγη από την οποία οι επισκέπτες απολαμβάνουν την θέα του κάστρου Sao Jorge μετά
την καθιερωμένη περαντζάδα, το μουσείο αποτελεί από μόνο του ένα έκθεμα. Info: maat.pt

in an exhibition that presents the evolution of the
