hospitality: What does mean to you?
For the Divani Group, hospitality is more
than a concept; it is a virtue. Hospitality
lies in the company’s DNA, in the genes
of the family that has offered high quality
hospitality services for 57 consecutive years
without losing the uniqueness of a family
business, with a distinct, individualized approach.
Every single guest, is and feels unique!
.What makes a hotel... unique?
It is our philosophy that every guest is and feels
unique; the personal involvement of the family that
can be felt in every single detail; the smile that is
the mirror of hospitality.
If you did not work in the hospitality sector,
where would you have liked to work?
All my life, since I was young, I remember playing
in the reception area, moving around our hotels
with the curiosity and love my grandfather and
uncle conveyed to me, as well as our staff and
colleagues in the hotels and their microcosms.
I therefore must say that I cannot see myself, or
imagine myself, in any other line of work except
hospitality.
Which great historical figure would you like to
host in your hotels? From different fields; from
fashion, politics, a dandy such as Oscar Wilde,
a fashion icon such as Coco Chanel, but also
personas such as Winston Churchill or Aristotle
Onassis. I am certain the stories they would share
with me would be priceless.
What is the one thing you would change in
Athens? What can you change in a city that has
existed and “breathed” constantly and incessantly
for 2500 years? You become a “piece” of it, let
yourself be carried away by its History, and leave
your own “impression” on the city.
What three things differentiate the hotel chain
you work for?
a) Family. And I do not necessarily mean family in
the sense of your relatives, but the family we have
created with the employees here at Divani Group;
how connected we feel to our people all these
years; how we call them by their first names, how
we progress together, growing and evolving.
