Travelling the globe as a photographer with National Geographic Magazine for over three decades,
Brandenburg has produced several magazine stories, television documentaries and many bestseller
books, including Chase by the Light, Looking for the Summer and Brother Wolf. Over the course of
his long career, he has received a multitude of prestigious national and international honors for his
work, including the World Achievement Award from the United Nations Environmental Programme
in Stockholm, Sweden, in recognition of his using nature photography to raise public awareness for
the environment. His commitment to conservation is also expressed both by his ILCP fellowship and
his Prairie Foundation, which he and his wife Judy established in 1999, in order to promote, preserve
and expand the native prairie in southwest Minnesota, US.
Για περισσότερα από 30 χρόνια ταξιδεύει σε όλον τον κόσμο με την
ιδιότητα του φωτογράφου για το περιοδικό National Geographic, με
αποτέλεσμα δεκάδες δημοσιεύματα σε περιοδικά, τηλεοπτικά ντο-
κιμαντέρ και πολλά bestseller βιβλία. Στο παλμαρέ του περιλαμβά-
νονται πολλές διεθνείς διακρίσεις, με σημαντικότερη ίσως το World
Achievement Award που έλαβε από το Περιβαλλοντικό Πρόγραμ-
μα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών στη Στοκχόλμη, σε αναγνώριση της συμ-
βολής των φωτογραφιών του στην ευαισθητοποίηση του κοινού σε
θέματα περιβάλλοντος. H προσήλωσή του στην προστασία του πε-
ριβάλλοντος εκφράζεται τόσο με την συμμετοχή του στην ILCP, όσο
και με το Prairie Foundation που ίδρυσε μαζί με τη σύζυγό του Judy
το 1999, αποβλέποντας στην προώθηση, συντήρηση και ανάπτυξη
της στέπας στη νοτιοδυτική Μινεζότα των ΗΠΑ.
