ΠΑΡΑΛΊΑ ΣΧΟΙΝΆΡΙΑ, ΚΡΉΤΗ
Tucked away on the east of the island of
Crete, south of Rethymnon, is one of Greece’s
best places for observing marine life; multi-
coloured fish of numerous species horde
together with octopi, morays and a fever of
manta rays gracefully passing by is another
unforgettable sight that is not uncommon
here. | Κρυμμένη στην Ανατολική Κρήτη,
νότια του Ρεθύμνου, ένα από τα καλύτερα
μέρη της Ελλάδας για να παρατηρήσεις
τη θαλάσσια ζωή, με πολύχρωμα ψάρια,
χταπόδια και σαλάχια, που περνούν με χάρη
και αποτελούν ακόμα ένα αξέχαστο θέαμα,
διόλου ασυνήθιστο για την περιοχή.

ΑΛΌΝΝΗΣΟΣ, ΣΠΟΡΆΔΕΣ
The great advantage of the destination is that
the whole area has been declared a National
Marine Park since 1992. Therefore this marine
ecosystem is one of the most preserved in the
Med. An important habitat for many species of
fish (about 300), like the Mediterranean monk
seal (Monachus monachus) and the red coral
(Coralium rubrum). | Το πλεονέκτημα της
περιοχής είναι ότι έχει ανακηρυχτεί Εθνικό
Θαλάσσιο Πάρκο από το 1992. Γι’ αυτόν το
λόγο είναι ένα από τα πιο προστατευμένα και
διατηρημένα οικοσυστήματα στη Μεσόγειο
και σημαντικός βιότοπος για πολλά είδη
ψαριών, τη μεσογειακή φώκια (Μonachus
monachus) και το κόκκινο κοράλλι (Coralium
rubrum).
