The tower’s objective is to become the symbol of East Asia’s financial
centres. Located in the fast emerging financial district of Lujiazui, the
spiral tower will be the tallest of a group of 3 adjacent supertall buildings,
the other two being the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial
Center, and the 2nd tallest building in the world. Designed by a talented
team at the US architectural firm Gensler in line with the principles of green
architecture, the exterior of the impressive tower spirals upward, twisting
to withstand frequent typhoons and the transparent facade allows abundant
natural light. | Στοιχηματίζει να γίνει το σύμβολο των οικονομικών κέντρων
της Ανατολικής Ασίας - και θα το κερδίσει: βρίσκεται στην ανερχόμενη
εμπορική περιοχή Lujiazui, η σπειροειδής κατασκευή του θα αποτελείται
από 3 συνολικά συνδεδεμένους πύργους, που θα περιλαμβάνουν τον Πύργο
Jin Mao και το κτίριο της Διεθνούς Εμπορικής Έκθεσης της Σαγκάης, ενώ η
632 μ. κορυφή του θα τον απογειώσει στη 2η θέση των ψηλότερων κτιρίων
στον κόσμο. Σχεδιασμένο από τους πρωτοπόρους του γραφείου Gensler
σύμφωνα με τις αρχές της πράσινης αρχιτεκτονικής, ο εντυπωσιακός
ουρανοξύστης έχει στρογγυλεμένες άκρες για να αντιστέκεται στους
τυφώνες και διαφανή όψη για άπλετο φυσικό φως.
