The Varvakios Agora (Athens central market)
is Athens’ culinary heart, and those who
have never come here should do so, even
just for the experience. A meeting point for
the city’s freshest produce and ingredients,
this is where you will also find Epirus, the
cult restaurant that stays open until the crack
of dawn. Its chairs have hosted some of the
greatest personalities over the years, who,
in search of the “cure” for late nights and
alcohol, have all tucked into its famed soups.
If undecided, go for the delicious magiritsa
(soup with lamb offal), and tell Rania that

Μέσα λοιπόν στο μέρος που όλοι έρχονται
για να βρουν τα πιο φρέσκα υλικά υπάρχει,
εδώ και πολλά χρόνια, το cult εστιατόριο «Η
Ήπειρος», που μένει ανοιχτό μέχρι νωρίς
το πρωί. Στις καρέκλες του έχουν καθίσει
κατά καιρούς μεγάλες προσωπικότητες,
αναζητώντας το «γιατρικό» για το ξενύχτι και
το αλκοόλ: τις περίφημες σούπες του. Αν δεν
ξέρετε τι να διαλέξετε, επικεντρωθείτε στην
πεντανόστιμη μαγειρίτσα και αν είναι η Ράνια
εκεί, πείτε της πως σας στέλνει ο Βασίλης.
