“Travelling Greece in Comfort and Safety”: An RSI Road Safety Campaign at Athens International Airport

In the framework of the long collaboration, the Hellenic Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas”, supported by Athens International Airport, is running during July 2013 the campaign “Travelling Greece in Comfort & Safety” in the airport premises.

The special material created by “Panos Mylonas” Institute, is placed in seven poster cases and appears in the airports dedicated screens.

The “Travelling Greece in Comfort and Safety” campaign, aims to raise awareness  of visitors of Greece, especially during the summertime when the road network is loaded with a greater number of vehicles, about road dangers and accidents.

The month of July was selected considering the fact that during this time of the year an increase in road traffic incidents is recorded, both serious and fatal, according to the statistics of the Hellenic Road Traffic Police.

Taking under account that the “human error” accounts for 65 – 95% of road traffic accidents, the ‘Travelling Greece in Comfort and Safety” campaign, points outs that all dangers lurking at the road network, can be avoided with the appropriate behaviour of all road users.
