PRESS RELEASES
23 OCTOBER 2001
Third Biennale of Greek Young Architects at "Eleftherios Venizelos" Airport "Places of nomadic dwelling"

The "nomadic" character of the airport, a public area of broad use and high mobility, led "Eleftherios Venizelos" airport to host the presentation of the "Third Biennale of Greek Young Architects" exhibition based on the theme "Places of nomadic dwelling", that will take place in November at the Syntagma Metro Station.

Thus, within the framework of the airport's cultural activities, from 20 through 29 October, 38 selected works are presented at the airport's Observation Deck*, relating to the current mobility of people and its impact on contemporary architecture. The presentation includes proposals for public buildings, residences, industries, participations in international architectural competitions, as well as experimental-theoretical projects, aiming at providing architectural solutions to the current social changes.

The presentation is organized by the Greek Institute of Architecture in cooperation with the Societe Anonyme of Hellenic Cultural Heritage's Promotion S.A., organizer of the Cultural Olympiad 2001-2004.

Within the framework of the presentation, visitors will have the opportunity of attending a slides' projection of the works included in the exhibition, as well as a video projection about the activities of the Societe Anonyme of Hellenic Cultural Heritage's Promotion.

*Observatory Deck (Main Terminal Building, Level 2, arrivals) is accessible for all passengers and visitors of the airport.
