Participating in AIA’s 10-year anniversary programme “Art and Culture Wishes”, the National Theatre of Greece presents Sophocle’s Antigone at the airport, on May 3rd.
Antigone, directed by Takis Tzamargias, is part of the National Theatre’s initiative The National Theatre of Greece in Education. This special performance leaves the stage and travels, intervening in the educational process in an imaginative and creative manner. Actors carrying only the absolutely necessary materials in their luggage, bring some of the magic of the theatre in non - traditional venues, as Sophocles’ text is transformed, from school material, into a live play.
Athens International Airport hosts Antigone on May 3rd, at 11:00 hrs., on Departures Level / Entrance 1 (public area). The airport is delighted to welcome on that occasion the pupils of the 2nd Class of the Spata Lyceum, for this very special performance presented “on an alternative stage”, which hosts a theatrical event for the very first time.
