Ten years of smiles! Since February 2002, when the “Children’s Creative Entertainment Area” was launched at Athens International Airport in cooperation with the Association “The Smile of the Child”, more than 47,000 little visitors from across the world have played and spent time with each other, in a warm, secure, and friendly airport area, receiving the care of the association’s specialized child minders.

Today, this beautiful journey continues in a new, bigger and more exciting area: the “Children’s play area”, located at the airport’s Departures - upper level, next to the Museum.

Offering more toys, additional spaces for the smaller children and special activities for the older ones, with new sanitation services, the play area promises to offer more smiles and the same special care in a comfortable and functional environment, while at the same time allowing parents to settle their travel arrangements.

When leaving the area, children dress the walls with their drawings and artworks, creating a colourful world puzzle, renewing their promise to get together again during their next airport visit!
