Embracing art once again in its premises, Athens International Airport, in cooperation with the Hellenic Centre for Photography, this autumn invites the airport’s passengers and visitors to enjoy a “photo panorama” of the 13th International Month of Photography, which is the oldest institution in Greece for collective photographic events in Greece (Arrivals Level / Entrance 1, October 2 – November 30, 2006, open 24hrs a day).
Thirty four black & white and colour photographs of Greek and foreign photographers, of different aesthetics and techniques, will be welcoming for 2 months the visitors of Athens International Airport, aiming to acquaint the public with the contemporary Greek and international photographic culture, as well as with the International Month of Photography institution, this year presenting 47 personal and group exhibitions of Greek and foreign photographers, and series of events, under the title “On Faces”. The works displayed at the airport exhibition - which are also presented in 34 different exhibitions around Athens during the International Month of Photography – create a new photographic landscape and a new aesthetic event at the airport.
Athens International Airport S.A. has the great pleasure to contribute to the materialization of the visions of the International Month of Photography. The cooperation of the airport with the Hellenic Centre for Photography, offers a valuable path for the materialization of the institution’s visions to promote and support the work of Greek photographers and artists, and photographic creation in general.
