A video work, will be welcoming the passengers and visitors of the Athens International Airport, from February 27th until June 25th, in the framework of the airport’s new collaboration with the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center.
The imagery video of the Swiss artist Yves Ackermann, titled “My Love Soon”, extends to painting with references to symbolism and realism. The blast of flowers, in extreme slow motion, captures the viewer’s imagination and mediates as an explosion of feelings. Coloured flower fragments and dust display rhythmic compositions over time. The artist emphasizes on the importance of “time” trying to focus on special moments, thus sustaining an action or stopping time rather than freezing it. The song “My Love Soon” was originally recorded in 2000 by Swiss composer Balduin.
This outstanding video art aims at offering a different visual and sound experience at Athens International Airport. The projection is presented at the airport’s special designed “Art & Culture” exhibition area on arrivals level (entrance 1 / free access for all airport visitors and passengers on a 24-hour basis).
Yves Ackermann was born in Basel (Switzerland) in 1979. He lives and works in Paris and Bern. He has participated in video and film festivals worldwide. He was recently awarded with the prize Dimension 3 Festival in Paris.
