Musicport: «Play me – The Piano Project»

A four-day celebration with musical notes and art, at Athens International Airport on the occasion of The International Music Day

The “Musicport” continues in the airport, with “Play me, The Piano Project” a four-day celebration full of music and painting, on the occasion of The International Music Day!

“Play me, The Piano Project”
Wednesday, June 19th – Saturday, June 22nd

On the first day, Wednesday, June 19th, passengers will enjoy the “transformation” of three pianos by artists Katerina Kris, Panagiotis Pantazis, and Aris Tsoutsikas!

From Thursday through Saturday, artists and musical groups will be presenting a Greek and international repertoire of classical, modern, and jazz compositions. However, it is not only the guest artists that will be playing the pianos; airport visitors and passengers are invited to play their melodies on the piano, giving their own tune!

After the 4-day “Play me, The Piano Project” happenings at the airport, the 3 transformed pianos will be offered to humanitarian institutions (1. Community Organisation of Parents, Custodians, and Friends of children with disabilities “Ergastiri”, 2. “The Smile of the Child”, 3. “Children’s SOS Villages”), giving children the opportunity to become acquainted with and enjoy the world of music. The “Musicport” is part of the programme “Fly me to the Moon”, a cooperation between Athens International Airport and the cultural platform “ελculture”, extending from May 2013 through April 2014.
