"Mirό of Majorca", is the title of Athens International Airport’s new significant photography 3-phase exhibition, starting this September: It is about a unique “virtual journey” in the Mallorca studio of the famous Catalan artist, built by his good friend Josep Sert, through the lens of established photographers Jean-Marie del Moral, Catala Roca and Joaquin Gomis. The airport’s new exhibition is part of the biggest to date Mirό exhibition ever staged in Greece, organised by the Teloglion Foundation of Art of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in cooperation with the Pilar i Joan Mirό Foundation in Mallorca. At Athens International Airport, visitors may admire Mirό’s work from a different perspective, as the exhibition reproduces the atmosphere of his studio, where the famous creator developed his art, full of poetry, fantasy, colour, rhythm, music. “Mirό of Majorca” at Athens International Airport will first exhibit the photographs of Jean-Marie del Moral (September 1 - November 30) followed by Catala Roca (December 1 - February 28) and Joaquin Gomis (March 1 - May 31). The exhibition will remain open to the public on a 24-hr basis at Athens International Airport’s Arrivals Level / Entrance 1 (the area is accessible for all airport visitors).
