Messogia and the land of Attica 41 works by landscape artist Sotos Papaspyropoulos at "Eleftherios Venizelos"

Fourty-one paintings of the distinguished painter Sotos Papaspyropoulos (1919 - April 2001) will be permanently placed at the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" as from Wednesday, September 12th. The paintings, 41 fine landscapes, forming a sequence titled "Messogia and the land of Attica", are donated by the late artist's spouse, Mrs. Voula Papaspyropoulou, to "Athens International Airport S.A.", to find their own place at the new airport, in the heart of Messogia.

The kind donation of Mrs. Papaspyropoulou is a very special moment for the Athens International Airport, now welcoming the works of a significant Greek artist, who dedicated his life and art to the landscape of Attica, and depicted on the canvas the culture and heritage of Messogia in an exceptional way. The paintings will be placed at selected spaces in the Airport's Administration Building, where airport employees, as well as numerous visitors, will have the possibility of admiring this remarkable work.

At the same time, this donation is a strong motivation for the Athens International Airport to continue its presence in the world of Art and Culture, expressing its particular sensitivity towards the area of Messogaia, home of the new airport.
