In an integrated approach, aiming at further developing cargo traffic through Athens International Airport, AIA’s Cargo Development Department as well as the Airport’s four Cargo Handlers, Customs Authority, Hellenic Post and the Association of International Freight Forwarders and Logistic Enterprises of Greece participated under one roof at the international fair «Air Cargo Europe 2005», held in Munich between May 31st and June 3rd. Through this joint approach that is unique in the context of international cargo business practices, emphasis was placed on the series of merits gained to date by the local cargo community during the monthly meetings of the “Airport Cargo Community Committee of “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport (ACCC). Furthermore, AIA’s initiatives to render cargo operations even more efficient were underlined, and a series of views regarding the development of the airfreight market were exchanged.
It is worth mentioning that, during “Air Cargo Europe 2005”, which took place in the frame of the international exhibition “Transport Logistic”, visitors had the opportunity to discuss with all the exhibiting cargo community members all aspects of the air cargo business inAthens and Greece, and thus “paint” an overall picture of the services offered at AIA. At the same time, Alexios Sioris, Manager Cargo Development at AIA, addressed his department’s future goals comprising:
