Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" has the pleasure to welcome to the Athens airport community Greece Airways, which, as of June 25th, launched 2 weekly scheduled services (every Monday & Friday), connecting Athens to Glasgow.
The new route's inauguration ceremony took place on Friday, July 2nd at Athens International Airport. The Deputy Minister of Transport & Communications, Mr. Anastasios Nerantzis, honoured the event with his presence. Greece Airways Chairman, Mr. Dhia Al Ani, and the CEO of Athens International Airport, Mr. Alfred van der Meer, also saluted the commencement of the new scheduled services.

Greece Airways, the Greek-Scottish interest airline, was founded in December 2003, and until now operates Air Scotland's scheduled services from Glasgow to 7 destinations in Spain, whereas soon it will fly from Athens to Pakistan. It is noteworthy that for the summer period from 20-06-04 to 30-10-04, 61 airlines operate scheduled services to / from the Athens airport.
