ECOMOBILITY - Ecological Automotion at Athens International Airport

Ecomobility, Ecological Automotion”, the very special environmental awareness exhibition of artworks created by pupils from all over Greece is hosted -for a fifth consecutive year- at the Environmental Information Centre of Athens International Airport, for a period of two months (September 6th – November 14th)

This year’s exhibition invites passengers and visitors to admire the best of this year’s pupil artworks: models, photographic material, paintings, printed material and novel constructions, all creations of pupils expressing themselves on environmental problems in big cities and creating their ideas of a dream-city, free of exhaust fumes and smog. All artworks were created during the school year 2009-2010, to support pupils’ projects for the environmental campaign “ECOMOBILITY, Ecological Automation, Contribution to the Environment". The programme’s aim is to enhance awareness among young citizens on crucial environmental problems caused by the excessive use of vehicles, on the reduction of pollutants affecting the environment and people’s health, and also to provide suggestions-solutions for a better life in big cities.

The campaign “ECOMOBILITY - Ecological Automation, Contribution to the Environment" is drawn up by the Voluntary Organization for Suburban Environment “ECOCITY”, and organised under the auspices of: the Greek Ministries of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs / Infrastructure, Transport & Networks / Environment, Energy & Climate Change / Economy, Competitiveness & Shipping, the European Commissioner for the Environment, and the Representation of the European Commission in Greece.

The exhibition is open 24 hours a day, open to all passengers and airport visitors.
