Ecological Automotion, Contribution to the Environment - A new exhibition at Athens International Airport in cooperation with Ecocity

This summer, Athens International Airport’s (AIA) Environmental Information Centre hosts a very special environmental awareness exhibition. AIA’s Environmental Services Department, in cooperation with the non-profit organization Ecocity, invite the airport’s passengers and visitors to admire the artworks created by pupils of the 3rd High School Grade from all over Greece, in the exhibition of Ecocity "Ecological Automotion, Contribution to the Environment", reflecting young people’s thoughts and dreams for the environment we live in.

Inspired by the environment, pupils use their imagination to express their views and environmental consciousness through the paintings, models, and video projection from the 3rd High School Grade Ecocity programme, in the framework of a campaign aiming at enhancing awareness among the youth and the inhabitants of big cities, regarding the serious problems arising from the excessive use of vehicles.

Ecocity organises the programme for the third consecutive year, in cooperation with scientific organizations and educational institutions, under the auspices of the Greek Ministries of National Education & Religion, Transport & Communications, Environment, Land Planning & Public Works, Development, and Macedonia-Thrace. Ecocity’s environmental awareness campaign will continue for a fourth consecutive year, in the period 2006-2007.

The exhibition will be on display through the end of September at Athens International Airport’s Environmental Information Centre (Main Terminal Building/Departures Level/entrance from Gate 3). The exhibition is open 24 hours a day.
