During the 2-½ years of operation of the Children’s Creative Entertainment Area at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, the child minders of the Association “The Smile of the Child” have welcomed more than 8,000 little passengers from all over the world. The children have spent many happy and creative moments in “their own place” at the airport, and made beautiful paintings of their colourful memories and impressions!
One hundred and twelve artworks of our little friends from all over the world, aged between 6 – 13 years, are in display as of July 28th until October 30th, 2004, at the airport’s Arrivals Corridor / Extra Schengen, in a very special exhibition titled “Connecting the world… through children’s paintings!”
Thousands of arriving passengers passing through this specific airport area during the Olympic Games period, will have the chance to enjoy the children’s creations; at the same time, the little passengers arriving to Athens this summer are invited to visit and spend happy times at the airport’s Children’s Creative Entertainment Area, before taking off from Athens! The “Children’s Creative Entertainment Area” is located at Departures Level in the Main Terminal Building (next to Gates B1-B2). In a safe and friendly area, the specialized child minders of the Association “The Smile of the Child” offer daily, from 09:00 to 21:00 hrs, free of charge, hospitality and creative entertainment.
