On Friday, May 15th, a wave of children’s voices could be heard coming from the “OTE forest”, a 300,000 m2 green area on the outskirts of Artemis municipality (adjacent to Athens International Airport): 150 boys and girls from local primary schools, guided and assisted by 45 EOMAK (local rescuers) volunteers with the support of Athens International Airport, cleaned up the area’s fire protection zones, a project of vital importance especially in view of the summer period. The transport of the pupils and the provision of cleaning equipment were set up by the airport company, while the Artemis Municipality arranged the provision of cleaning vehicles.
