Beijing Capital International Airport & Athens International Airport bonded under Brotherhood Agreement

A Brotherhood Agreement was signed today in Beijing, between Beijing Capital International Airport, the airport looking forward to welcoming the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games guests shortly, and Athens International Airport, that had the honour of welcoming and bidding farewell to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games four years ago.

By their brotherhood pledge, Beijing Capital International Airport Co. Ltd. and Athens International Airport S.A. establish liaisons of friendship and partnership, aiming to a) enhance service quality for the Olympic Games on the basis of the cooperation with Athens International Airport which reaches its completion, b) improve air connections between Beijing and Athens, and c) exchange management expertise on the levels of airport management and technology, and cooperate in developmental projects around the world.

During the ceremony, the General Manager of BCIA, Mr. Dong Zhiyi said: “I hope that, through our cooperation, we can learn from the valuable experience of Olympic Games operations from Athens International Airport, so as to promote the quality of our services and provide our guests from all around the world with safe, seamless operations”.

On the occasion of the brotherhood agreement with Beijing Capital International Airport, Athens International Airport CEO, Dr. Yiannis Paraschis, stated: “The common experience and unique endeavour for the Olympic Games have been a catalyst for the development of ties of friendship and partnership between our airports. We are delighted for this mutual commitment for the transfer of know-how and the joint engagement in international projects that will offer Beijing and Athens airports new development opportunities.”

The two airports’ Brotherhood Agreement was signed in the new Terminal 3 of the Beijing Capital International Airport, in the presence of the Greek Ambassador to Beijing, Mr. Michalis Kambanis, top officials from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Capital Airport Holding Company, the Beijing Organizing Committee for Games the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), Air China, and the Chinese tourism authorities.
