Athens International Airport: Winter 2012 Special Incentive, aiming at the introduction of lower fares by airlines

In line with its risk-sharing philosophy and ongoing effort to support and assist its airline–partners, Athens International Airport introduces a new special incentive for the 2012 winter period.

Aiming at boosting air traffic in the Athens market during the low traffic winter season and encouraging the introduction of lower fares for passengers, AIA’s new, internationally innovative, incentive corresponds to a discount on passenger charges ranging between 25% and 50% and applies to  low fare tickets to all routes out of Athens.

The programme is valid during the period February 1st – April 30th, 2012, and applies to low fares of all airlines operating out of Athens, on both domestic and international routes.

More specifically:

Airlines are entitled to a 10 € incentive
(equal to a 50% discount on AIA’s passenger charges for the following all inclusive low fares)

  • one-way fare ≤ 50 €, for short distance flights
  • one-way fare ≤60 €, for medium distance flights
  • one-way fare ≤ 100 € , for long distance flights

Airlines are entitled to a 5 € incentive
(equal to a 25% discount on AIA’s passenger charges for the following low fares)

  • one-way fare over 50 € and up to 65 € , for short distance flights
  • one-way fare over 60 € and up to 75 € , for medium distance flights
  • one-way fare over 100 € and up to 125 € , for long distance flights

Airlines are entitled to the incentive for round-trips, provided that the fares do not exceed the double price of the respective one-way fare.

The participation of airlines in the programme is optional. At the same time, AIA continues its annual developmental incentives programme for its airline partners.
