Athens International Airport in "IATA Global Airport Monitor" First in Europe / Second best in the world for 2003

The Airport's successful and steady course is reflected in the results of "IATA Global Airport Monitor" survey for 2003.

In our airport size category:

In the competitive airport size category from 5 to 15 million passengers per annum, "Eleftherios Venizelos" holds the 1st ranking position in Europe in "Overall Passenger Satisfaction" for the second consecutive year, and ranks 2nd in the world behind the Airport of Cape Town, which was recently upgraded with a brand new terminal.

In the overall ranking:

For the year 2003, Athens Airport maintained the 2nd position amongst all participating European Airports - regardless of airport size category - ranked behind the state-of-art Airport of Copenhagen.

Furthermore, our Airport has been appointed as a European leader - regardless of airport size category - across a wide range of service categories. More specifically, Athens Airport came first on "Security inspection", "Cleanliness of the airport terminal", and "Comfortable waiting areas/gates". Moreover, the commercial facilities of "Eleftherios Venizelos" have been highly evaluated by international passengers by achieving the 1st position in Europe in "Value for money - Restaurant/eating facilities" and "Value for money - Shopping facilities".

Athens International Airport will be awarded for its distinctive performance at the AETRA awards ceremony that will take place at the ACI World Conference in Lisbon, in October 2004.
