“Almost always the creative dedicated minority has made the world better” Martin Luther King
The new exhibition on display at Athens International Airport from January 10 through April 30 2008, brings airport passengers and visitors close to the campaigns and actions of Amnesty International. The exhibition presents 30 artworks of Greek graphic artists, who approached the vision and ideas of Amnesty International for human rights, with their own special talent and creativity.
The exhibits, posters and advertising creations, are part of a broader exhibition of about 220 artworks originally presented in 2006, with subjects inspired from Amnesty International’s actions. Apeiron Photos, the Greek Section of Amnesty International and Corbis photo agency, invited Greek graphic artists, in order to design and create posters and insertions, aiming to highlight the important work of this worldwide movement.
Focused on the protection of human rights across the globe, the work of Amnesty International is systematic, substantial, independent, non-profit and required in every part of our planet. Through this exhibition, Athens International Airport aims to contribute to the goals and vision of the international movement for human rights and the protection against any form of their violation.
The exhibition will be open to the public 24 hours a day (Arrivals public area, Extra-Schengen “A”, accessible to all airport visitors).
