Athens International Airport S.A. was honoured with a special award for its significant activity in the field of human resources training and development, within the framework of the 6th Human Resources Symposium, which was organized by KPMG during April 3-4, 2003, at "Athinais" Multiple Activity Centre in Athens.
The "KPMG Awards" were established in 2002, as a distinction to the companies that undertook the best initiatives in the field of Human Resources.
This year, the independent assessment committee, consisting of University Professors and senior executives, awarded Athens International Airport S.A. for the initiative and work of its Human Resources Division in the area of training and development of the approximately 800 employees of the Airport Company, as well as of the human resources of the other companies in "Eleftherios Venizelos" airport community.
The honorary plate was received by the Chief Human Resources & Administration Officer, Mr. Yiannis Tsapalas.
AIA's Manager, Staffing & Training, Mrs. Angela Alessandri, then presented the training activities of the company's Human Resources Division, underlining the significance of AIA's Training Centre* for the development of the airport company's human resources, as well as the contribution of the Training Centre in the greater Messogia area.
* Athens International Airport's Training Centre commenced its activities in November 2001, providing integrated training services, mainly in the form of in-company seminars to the approximately, 13,000 employees of the airport community. In addition, the Training Centre's 8 fully equipped rooms (200 m2, 150 p. capacity) are available for rental. The Centre's training activities cover a wide range of - airport or non-airport related - subjects.
