A 'journey' through a children's book at Athens International Airport

Eighty children had the chance to “meet” Don Quixote of Miguel de Cervantes at Athens International Airport yesterday!

The departures area of ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ was filled with children’s smiling faces yesterday afternoon, when young book lovers enjoyed the presentation of children’s book ‘Don Quixote’, adapted by Maria Angelidou, and published by Papadopoulos Publications.

Athens International Airport staff had the pleasure to welcome the children to a very special event, organised in cooperation with Papadopoulos Publications and Instituto Cervantes-Atenas, on the occasion of the celebration of the 400th anniversary since the first edition of the masterpiece of Miguel de Cervantes.

Children and parents enjoyed music from Spain, birthplace of the great author, learnt all about ‘Don Quixote’ through the presentation of Maria Angelidou, discussed the book’s wonderful illustration concept with illustrator Vasilev Svetlin, and had a great time watching part of the children’s play “Don Quixote” by ‘Koukla Theatre’.
