Sailing athlete George Delikouras of the Piraeus Sailing Club ranked 3rd in the international regatta “Trofeo Citta di Lignano” for 2.4 mR boats, in Lignano/Italy on 24-25 March. The race was the second round of the Italian 2.4 mR championship, in which disabled athletes compete with athletes without disabilities, on equal terms.
This was the first time a Greek disabled athlete is among the winners in an international regatta, competing with athletes without disabilities.
The Greek athlete ranked 3rd in a total of 19 participations, one penalty point behind the first two winners.
