WATCH THE VIDEO A wind of renewal blows through the Airport
Shopping Centre! “Operation Renovation”,
which began in the Extra Schengen area,
is complete this year with a full redesign
of the Schengen area as well, and now, passengers
can enjoy a... special journey into aesthetics, shopping
and delicious flavours. Destination? A complete travel
experience that unfolds in four stages, guided by the latest
trends in travel, passenger comfort and modern design.
STAGEONE: The first major development is the installation
of a centralized security filter point, at the entrances of
the Schengen area (boarding card control – security).
The new centralized filter allows for the total separation
of operational processes from passenger recreation in
the airport. Passengers, after having left the centralized
security controls behind, can now explore and walk
through the new upgraded Schengen area, comfortably
and stress-free. As in a “walk in modern Athens”,
passengers will begin from the “Market”, cross the busy
“Street”, walk around the “Greek Neighbourhood”, and
finally arrive at the “Square”, where they can explore a
plethora of culinary delights, highlighted by a variety of
Greek delicacies, adding a special flavour to their stay
at the airport!
STAGE TWO: A "Relaxation Zone" is located immediately
after the main security screening, just before the Hellenic
Duty Free Shops area. Passengers have direct visual
contact with the aesthetically pleasing, open-plan, and
bright shopping spaces that make up "The Market". The
now unified Hellenic Duty Free Shops no longer feature
space dividers, thus allowing passengers to browse the
shopping area unhindered, which has doubled in size.
Thanks to its layout, this area becomes an integral part of
the passenger route, inviting them to pause and explore.
They can immerse themselves in a world of scents and
beauty in the Perfumes and Cosmetics sections, where
they will find the latest releases by famous brands such
as makeup by Benefit, Bobbie Brown, Givenchy, Giorgio
Armani and Tom Ford, perfumes and skincare products
by Acqua di Parma and scents by Jo Malone, as well as
La Mer cosmetics.
Directly across, gourmet fans can discover a variety of
gift ideas for themselves and their loved ones, in addition
to an exceptional selection of Greek wines, confectionery
and tobacco products.
STAGE THREE: All roads lead to the Urban Street "Stοa",
where recurring marble frames lend themselves to an
aesthetic façade reminiscent of a typical Athens high street.
This is where you will find the “Greek Neighbourhood”,
a congregation of Greek products and brands, such
as Korres and Apivita, as well as the Greek Designers
Store which offers clothing and accessories by talented
Greek designers. Of course, Airth Coffee & Nuts boasts
an exquisite collection of nuts, delicious chocolate-based
delicacies, as well as coffees, teas and herbal beverages.
The scene is completed with a series of famous stores
