The street artist with the plump blue-
white sailor trademark, brings colour
to abandoned buildings in Athens.

Based on your characteristics, what’s your
contribution to Athens?
I work almost always in the morning and
never paint on clean walls. Abandoned
buildings are my weakness. There’s nothing
in the world that makes me happier than
painting in the street. My sketches come
out optimistic, with doses of humour,
light melancholy and with an emphasis
on Greek traditional elements. So, from
that perspective, there might be people
who appreciate this and see it as a positive
intervention on Athens’ image.
What can a traveler find only in Athens?
The quantity and the quality of street art
and graffiti in the Athenian streets, is an
inseparable characteristic of our city and is
counted on the plus side.
Mε βάση την ιδιότητά σας, πώς
συνεισφέρετε στην Αθήνα;
Δουλεύω σχεδόν πάντα πρωί και δεν
ζωγραφίζω ποτέ καθαρούς τοίχους.
Τα εγκαταλελειμμένα κτίρια είναι η
αδυναμία μου. Δεν υπάρχει κάτι στον
κόσμο που να με κάνει πιο χαρούμενο
από το να ζωγραφίζω στο δρόμο. Τα
σχέδιά μου βγαίνουν αισιόδοξα, με
δόσεις χιούμορ, ελαφράς μελαγχολίας
και με έμφαση στο ελληνικό
παραδοσιακό στοιχείο. Υπό αυτήν την
έννοια, ίσως υπάρχει κόσμος που το
εκτιμά και το βλέπει ως μια θετική
παρέμβαση στην εικόνα της Αθήνας.
Τι μπορεί να βρει ένας ταξιδιώτης μόνο
στην Αθήνα;
Η ποσότητα και η ποιότητα της street
art και των γκράφιτι στους αθηναϊκούς
δρόμους είναι αναπόσπαστο
χαρακτηριστικό της πόλης μας και
καταχωρείται στα θετικά.
