The Internal Audit Department of Athens International Airport was honoured yesterday by the Hellenic Institute of Internal Auditors (HIIA) with the Recognition of Commitment (ROC) for 2004, for demonstrating Professional Excellence, Professional Quality, and Professional Outreach. Specifically, the International Institute of Internal Auditors* (in Greece represented by HIIA) announced that AIA’s Internal Audit Department has qualified for the Recognition of Commitment for 2004, further to achieving the following criteria:
The goal of this programme is to emphasize the importance of professionalism and quality within Internal Audit, and to encourage chief Auditors worldwide to take their functions to an even higher level. AIA’s Internal Auditor Mr. Panagiotis Valantassis received the award during a special ceremony held at the Titania hotel, downtown Athens, by HIIA’s President, Costas Triantaphilidis. * Established in 1941, the Institute of Internal Auditors (www.theiia.o) is an international professional association with world headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The IIA has more than 95,000 members through out the world, in internal auditing, governance, internal control, IT audit, education, and security.
